Industrial Designer

Location: High Point, NC

About the Role

We are seeking an Industrial Designer to support the design and development of consumer‑level products from concept through production. This role is ideal for a designer who is eager to build hands‑on experience, contribute creative ideas, and collaborate closely with engineering, product development, and manufacturing teams. Key Responsibilities
  • Support the end‑to‑end design process, including ideation, sketching, 3D modeling, prototyping, and refinements
  • Translate creative concepts into functional, manufacturable designs
  • Develop CAD models, drawings, and basic renderings for product concepts
  • Assist in material selection, finishes, colors, and surface treatments
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (engineering, product management, sourcing, marketing)
  • Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback from senior designers and stakeholders
  • Support preparation of design documentation for tooling and manufacturing
  • Stay informed on consumer trends, materials, and design innovations
  • Other related tasks
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or a related field
  • 2–5 years of professional experience or relevant internships in product or industrial design
  • Foundational proficiency in CAD and design software (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, KeyShot, Onshape, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn and apply basic engineering concepts
  • Strong sketching and visual communication skills
  • Basic understanding of product development and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to receive feedback, iterate designs, and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing consumer products (home goods, lifestyle, electronics, furniture, or similar)
  • Exposure to mass production, tooling constraints, or supplier collaboration
  • Familiarity with prototype fabrication methods (3D printing, mock‑ups)
  • Portfolio demonstrating design process, problem‑solving, and aesthetics
