This position is based at Graham Packaging Company's Global Technology Center in York, PA

Role Overview

We are looking for a talented design intern to join our team at Graham Packaging. This role offers the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to our business-to-business blue chip customer base. You will be instrumental in shaping new concepts and developing ideas across our product range, from beverages to household laundry and automotive packaging. Attention to detail in 3D shapes and forms, while keeping the end consumer in mind, is crucial. You will gain hands‑on experience using various techniques, from hand sketches to CAD design, to bring customer ideas to life. Your main responsibilities will include assisting the creative team with tasks such as brainstorming, sketching, 3D CAD, renderings, and exploring different design ideas.

Throughout your journey, you will receive valuable guidance and mentorship from our experienced Design Leadership. Additionally, you will occasionally work on graphic layouts and sample label art for mockups and 3D printing.

Skills and Proficiencies
  • Strong proficiency in design software such as Fusion 360, SolidWorks, KeyShot, & Adobe Suite.
  • Expert in sketching and conceptualization, translating ideas into tangible designs.
  • Creative thinking and a strong portfolio showcasing design projects and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively present and articulate design concepts.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Passion for staying informed about industry trends and new design methodologies.
  • Exceptional design sensibility for crafting visually appealing and user‑friendly products.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Collaborative work approach, effective in cross‑functional interactions to foster teamwork.

Compensation

The expected salary range for the position described in this posting is made in accordance with the legal mandates of certain jurisdictions within the United States. The final agreed‑upon compensation is based on individual qualifications and experience.
