Job summary

Ingredion Incorporated in Bedford Park, IL invites a highly motivated student to join our R&D team as Industrial CSPI Technical Intern for Summer 2027. You will support existing customers and help develop new product solutions for industrial market applications.

You will collaborate across internal resources to design experiments, generate technical data and craft value-added solutions aligned with consumer trends.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with wet chemistry laboratory.
• Knowledge of paper and packaging manufacturing processes, process chemicals and development, polymer chemistry preferred.
• Interpersonal, verbal and written technical communication skills, e.g. making presentations and writing technical data/reports.
• Ability to work 40hrs per week during the summer internship term.

Responsibilities

• Conduct searches on prior art (literature, patents), and current technology including competitive activity on related projects, and summarizing the outcomes in appropriate report
• Perform laboratory experiments, conduct data analysis and interpret results to make recommendations to project team and support the project
• Coordinate, summarize and report data generated from these experiments
• Record data in the Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) and other archiving databases as appropriate; effectively communicating results to project teams and partners
• Present research findings to management with recommendations for future New Product Development or Applied Research projects at completion of internship period
