Job summary

The Weitz Company is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Industrial team in Hastings, Nebraska. This role involves organizing and reviewing construction documents, coordinating RFIs, and supporting submittals and inspections while traveling as needed.

Ideal candidates have a related degree and at least two years of PM experience in industrial construction, with strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills. Travel and relocation will be required based on project needs.

Qualifications

• Industry degree required.
• Minimum 2 years of construction PM experience preferred.
• LEAN principles desirable.
• OSHA 30 preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Industrial construction experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organize, review, update, maintain, and post construction documents/drawings.
• Collaborate with project team to complete RFIs.
• Review submittals and project documents for accuracy against plans/specs.
• Assist in inspections, compliance audits, and non-conformance log.
• Manage material and equipment delivery status.
• Maintain and distribute accurate project logs.
• Draft scopes of work for subcontracts/purchase orders.
• Track subcontractor change orders and solicit pricing within authority.
• Utilize design tools to assist with project coordination.
• Obtain and manage closeout information and assist with warranty processes.
• Travel and/or relocate to assignments as needed.
