Job summary

PESCO in Farmington, NM seeks an Industrial Coating / Sandblasting Manager to plan, organize, and lead daily coating operations. You will supervise painters, blasters, technicians, and lead operators to meet schedules and customer specs.

Responsibilities include KPI tracking, SOP development, audits, safety enforcement, and continuous improvement. A strong background in coatings, surface prep, curing, and QA is essential; AMPP Level 3 certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's level leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of industrial coatings, surface prep, and curing processes.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams including production, engineering, quality, and customer service.
• Ability to drive continuous improvement and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and manage daily coating operations to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
• Supervise and coordinate coating department personnel (painters, blasters, technicians, lead operators).
• Establish and monitor KPIs related to quality, productivity, safety, and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with coating specifications, work instructions, and industry standards.
• Oversee surface preparation, blasting, coating application, curing, and final inspections.
• Review customer specifications and ensure proper execution.
• Manage coating material inventories and coordinate orders.
• Develop SOPs for coating operations.
• Conduct inspections and audits for coating thickness and adhesion.
• Investigate defects and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure OSHA, EPA compliance and environmental regulations.
• Promote safety policies and training.
• Coordinate maintenance of equipment to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, QA, and customer service.
• Prepare operational reports, production metrics, and departmental budgets.
• Support audits and quality certifications.
• Lead training, performance evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness.
