Job summary

MountainOne in Pittsfield, MA seeks an Industrial Coatings Supervisor to lead the coatings department, oversee surface prep, application, curing, and inspection, and drive safety and efficiency. You will supervise technicians, ensure compliance with OSHA/EPA, and partner with engineering and quality teams to elevate performance.

The role requires 3–5 years in industrial coatings with supervisory experience and a strong understanding of coating types and application methods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/trade school is a plus.
• 3-5 years in industrial coatings or surface finishing with supervisory experience preferred.
• Familiarity with safety regulations (OSHA/EPA) and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Direct, train, and evaluate coatings technicians and support staff.
• Assign tasks and monitor progress to meet production schedules.
• Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and accountability.
• Oversee surface preparation, mixing, application, curing, and inspection of industrial coatings.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and industry best practices.
• Manage equipment usage, preventive maintenance, and calibration of spray systems and curing ovens.
• Monitor material usage and reduce waste through proper handling and storage.
• Conduct in-process and final inspections of coated products.
• Maintain accurate documentation of coating processes, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other environmental and safety regulations.
• Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Support Lean, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality departments to resolve issues.
