Job summary

Carboline is seeking a Technician - Industrial Coatings in St. Louis, MO to join our Research & Development team. You will support day-to-day lab operations, contribute to product development, and help ensure quality and performance standards are met.

You will operate laboratory instruments, maintain notes, conduct QC testing, and learn coating techniques using spray, roller, and brush methods. PPE, MSDS compliance, and hazard awareness are integral to daily work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of at least one year of college chemistry or 1–3 years lab experience preferred.
• Must pass Jaeger Eye Test.

Responsibilities

• Operate lab instruments following testing procedures.
• Maintain accurate lab notes and assist with reports.
• Conduct quality control testing and data collection.
• Use lab computer systems for reporting and inventory tracking.
• Support preparation and evaluation of lab-scale batches.
• Learn coating techniques using spray, roller, and brush methods.
• Follow MSDS guidelines for materials and hazardous handling.
• Adhere to safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
• Identify hazards, support injury prevention, report incidents.
• Collaborate with team, supervisors, and cross-functional partners.
• Complete required training including RCRA and Contingency Plan.
