It also involves operating and working from man lifts and other mobile elevating work platforms for much of the shift to clean overhead structures, ductwork, and equipment. The technician must wear a respirator and flame-resistant or disposable protective clothing for extended periods, and will frequently climb, bend, kneel, crawl, reach overhead, and lift up to 50 pounds. The role involves working in hot, noisy, and confined areas where metal dust is present.
