Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking an Industrial & Janitorial Cleaner for Eddyville, IA. The role runs Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with a pay rate up to $23 per hour based on experience.

You will support sanitation across offices and production spaces, using buffers and cleaning equipment to maintain a safe, clean facility. We offer weekly pay, comprehensive benefits from day one, advancement opportunities, and on-the-job training in a cutting-edge facility with provided safety

Responsibilities

  • Sanitation and cleaning of assigned areas according to schedules.
  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wash floors and surfaces.
  • Assist in formulating sanitation standards and provide feedback.
  • Communicate with team lead and customer to complete tasks.
  • Work from ladders and platforms with fall protection as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of offices and production areas.
  • Monitor and report hazards to supervisors.

Job Title and Summary

Industrial & Janitorial Cleaner

Location: Eddyville, IA

Salary: up to $23/hr depending on experience

Hours: M-F, 7am - 3:30pm

What Will I Be Doing?
  • Team member must be able to work in a team oriented and safety conscious environment.
  • Safety First expectations include, but are not limited to, PJHA process, Observation process, and compliance with all company / site safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Assigned tasks list to include, but not limited to, sanitation and cleaning of assigned areas following master cleaning schedules and procedures.
  • Sanitation and cleaning consist of washing down, shoveling, de-junking, vacuuming, and sweeping.
  • Assist in formulating sanitation standards / work procedures while performing those duties and provide work order feedback on discrepancies noted in service delivery.
  • Effectively communicate with team lead, supervisor, and customer to accomplish assigned tasks and develop sound customer relations.
  • Work from elevated areas such as ladders, platforms, scaffolding, etc. utilizing fall protection equipment when required by the job.
  • Maintain communication with supervisor regarding unresolved work issues, personnel issues, and employee complaints.
  • Perform other work as defined by company and/or customer.
  • CC- Caustic Cleaners clean process screens with a concentrated solution daily.
  • Sweep, mop, and wash floors, and other surfaces (inside buildings - offices and production/manufacturing environment).
  • Use light and heavy (commercial type) floor buffers and shampoo machines including attachments.
  • Vacuum offices and public areas.
  • Spot clean daily and shampoo when directed rugs.
  • Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and all other horizontal surfaces including periodic high dusting.
  • Wash windowsills; glass in interior doors, partition, and specified windows.
  • Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, interior/exterior - Wash/spot clean interior walls as appropriate daily.
  • Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily.
  • Standard bathroom procedures are to damp wipe glass surfaces, empty waste baskets, service soap and toilet paper dispensers, dust sills, clean tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, sweep/mop/scrub floors, etc.
  • Monitors possible defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, and reports to supervisors.
  • Collect building trash daily, placing it in approved container and place it in designated collection area for subsequent removal.
  • Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers per specs.
  • Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting walkways/sidewalks as directed.
  • Performs periodic work: High dusting, leather and wood surface, polishing, wall washing, cleaning stairwells.
  • Any and all other duties as assigned.
  • Ensures compliance with all company / customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Achieve performance expectations set forth as part of performance appraisals to include employee development planning.
  • Communications with all team members to assist the development of short- and long-range planning in assistance of the company’s goals.
  • Meeting physical requirements of the job.
What Makes Me Qualified?
  • Experience: 2 years in industrial cleaning desired but not required.
  • Manual Dexterity - The ability to quickly grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Substantial lifting (up to 50 pounds) is required.
  • Ability to move for extended or continuous periods of time.
  • Ability to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools.
  • Ability to operate applicable hand tools, power tools, and equipment.
  • Basic cleaning responsibilities requires no previous experience.
  • Must be able to take direction, to work with minimal supervision, and to function cooperatively as part of a team.
  • Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
  • Use a portable vacuum cleaner – back pack style.
  • Requires attention to detail, a pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.
  • Communication/Expression - The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand.
  • Information Ordering - The ability to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rules (e.g., patterns of numbers, letters, words, pictures, mathematical operations).

Work Environment

Benefits and Compensation

In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, Cushman & Wakefield provide eligible employees with competitive pay, which may vary depending on eligibility factors such as geographic location, date of hire, total hours worked, job type, business line, and applicability of collective bargaining agreements. The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications. The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
