Job summary

Maxair is seeking an experienced Boiler Technician to join our mechanical services team in Georgia. The ideal candidate will handle installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of steam and hydronic boiler systems in commercial and industrial settings, with a strong emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities include startups/shutdowns, interpreting blueprints, ensuring code compliance, and performing preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with commercial hydronic and steam boilers.
• Strong knowledge of boiler safety systems, controls, and combustion principles.
• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 18 years old.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and participate in a drug free workplace.
• Possess a clean driving record and a current driver's license.
• Local Union 72 membership or the qualifications, willingness and ability to join.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair steam boiler systems (high‑pressure and low‑pressure).
• Install, maintain, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair hydronic boilers.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on boilers, burners, pumps, valves, controls, and related mechanical systems.
• Diagnose system malfunctions and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct boiler startups, shutdowns, and combustion tuning.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes, including ASME and OSHA standards.
• Complete service reports, maintenance logs, and documentation accurately.
• Coordinate with project managers, inspectors, and other trades as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Participate in emergency service calls and on‑call rotations as required.
