Job summary

Safeway is seeking a Battery/Grounds Technician to maintain deep cycle batteries for a large logistics facility. Responsibilities include rotating batteries across forklifts, operating pallet jacks, and maintaining maintenance logs.

Electrical skills for voltage checks and wiring replacements are required, with crane/hoist experience a plus. The role involves yard maintenance tasks, grounds upkeep, and basic landscaping plus pressure washing as needed.

Qualifications

• Maintenance of deep cycle, industrial MHE batteries.
• Understanding of deep cycle battery chargers on an industrial scale.
• Rotation of batteries in forklifts and other equipment.
• Battery maintenance logs and record keeping.
• Operation of pallet jacks.
• Electrical knowledge of different voltages.
• Battery wiring replacement/repairs and plug/connector replacement.

Responsibilities

• Watering and maintenance of deep cycle batteries.
• Structured rotation of batteries in pallet jacks and forklifts.
• Operate pallet jacks and forklifts as needed.
• Maintain battery maintenance logs and records.
• Assist with wiring replacements and power plug replacements.
• Assist with crane/hoist operations as required.
• Support grounds and yard maintenance tasks.
