Day-in-the-life: Keep Williamsport runningPrysmian builds the systems that power cities and connect people—from high-voltage transmission to fiber optics. In our Williamsport facility, you’ll be the go-to expert safeguarding uptime on complex electrical and electronic controls that keep production moving. What your day might look likeYou start with a quick safety huddle, then jump into a controls fault on a production line. With schematics in one hand and an oscilloscope in the other, you trace signals, isolate the issue, and return the machine to service. After lunch, you fine-tune AC and DC drive parameters for quality, collaborate with operators, and advise a contractor on a controls upgrade. You draft a small circuit modification, prepare requisitions for parts, and close the day by updating documentation, backing up PLC programs to a secure location, and sharing lessons learned with the team.Compensation & benefitsSalary Range: $38.21–$40.1013 Company paid holidaysMedical, dental and vision insurance, effective immediately401(k) savings with company matchCompany GrowthCompany provides uniformBoot reimbursementTuitionYour impactTroubleshoot and repair electrical/electronic control devices and systems to maximize uptime, using schematics, vendor documentation, and a full suite of test instruments.Design new circuitry and modify existing control circuits; manage select maintenance projects from scope to completion.Specify and help select components, equipment, and service providers; prepare requisitions for parts and supplies.Inspect, calibrate, program, and adjust plant systems (including PLCs, industrial computers, and AC/DC drives) to achieve optimal performance and product quality.Champion safety and full OSHA compliance in every task.Document work thoroughly; maintain accurate, accessible records and ensure software and backups are current and stored securely.Recommend control-system improvements that enhance performance, quality, and cost efficiency.Encourage teamwork; organize or participate in problem-solving teams and support the department safety committee.Assist maintenance electricians with PMs, breakdown repairs, and capital/maintenance projects.Engage with colleagues at all levels in Williamsport, vendors/contractors, and occasionally other Cable Division sites.Maintain excellent housekeeping standards.Be available for nonscheduled hours when required. What you’ll bring5+ years in industrial maintenance (wire & cable experience preferred) with proven results supporting continuous operations.Technical degree in Electrical/Electronics Technology (or related) preferred; alternatively, a two-year electrical certificate with strong aptitude and a willingness to pursue additional training.Demonstrated project management ability; comfortable leading and coaching others.Skill at juggling multiple priorities under pressure with strong written and verbal communication.Flexible schedule to support a 24/7 facility.Proficiency with test gear such as oscilloscopes (including storage scopes), digital and analog multimeters, ammeters, megohmmeters, frequency meters/counters, signal generators, data loggers, chart recorders, and power demand analyzers.Fluency with PCs and embedded/industrial computers used in control systems: download/configure software, manage serial communications, troubleshoot interfaces, and use a computer as a daily tool.Ability to program, apply, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).Work environment & physical demandsRegularly sits, bends, kneels, squats; uses a keyboard; reads, writes, and speaks fluently.Works productively and collaboratively in a high-volume, fast-paced, high-pressure setting, responding efficiently and courteously to unexpected issues.
