Job summary

Winchester Ammunition is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and maintain automated electrical control systems for our industrial machinery and processes. You will program Allen-Bradley/Omron PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, Servos, and Vision Cameras to optimize performance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and at least five years of experience in industrial automation, with travel about 30%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum five years of experience designing electrical control systems and programming PLCs in industrial automation.
• Experience in motor drives, HMIs, Vision, and industrial networking preferred.
• Programming experience with Omron and/or Allen-Bradley PLCs preferred.
• Working knowledge of machine safety and guarding, such as NEC and NFPA 70E/79, preferred.
• Ability to provide engineering support to five White Flyer sites.
• Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel approximately 30%.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical control systems for industrial automation equipment (480V and below).
• Evaluate components and automation strategies to improve efficiency, quality, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
• Program control devices including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, Servos, and Vision Cameras.
• Develop electrical specifications for new equipment and coordinate with vendors through quotation, design, and build phases.
• Support maintenance teams with electrical troubleshooting and training on new controls.
• Develop and manage capital projects, conduct Root Cause Analysis, and implement corrective actions.
