Job summary

Withum in New Jersey is seeking an Industrial and Consumer Products Audit Senior to lead audit engagements from planning to completion. Based in East Brunswick, Red Bank, or Whippany, you will supervise staff, build client relationships, and ensure high-quality service across various client sizes and industries.

You'll guide engagement teams through planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, and financial reporting, while collaborating with managers and partners on resolutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance
• CPA or CPA eligible
• Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including familiarity with US GAAP
• Exceptional client service and communication skills with ability to develop and maintain client relationships
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a fast-paced team environment
• Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
• Excellent analytical, organizational, project management skills with attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Lead the engagement team on planning and execution of audit, review or compilation engagements
• Oversee day-to-day operations of the audit engagement including staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting and conclusion
• Provide supervision and support to staff and promote open communication with engagement manager and partner
• Collaborate with managers and partners on client issue resolution and advise on legal, regulatory and accounting issues
• Review all schedules and general ledger accounts for accurate entries
• Manage multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to meet client deadlines
• Create and track engagement budgets to identify inefficiencies
• Mentor team members and participate in professional development programs
• Serve as instructor or discussion leader in development programs

Education

Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance

This team provides audit services, Review and compilation services and other agreed upon audit procedures to a variety of client sizes and industries.

This Industrial and Consumer Products Audit Senior role can be based out of our East Brunswick, Red Bank, or Whippany office. You'll work alongside an integrated team of seasoned, well-known CPAs and industry leaders. In this position, you will take a lead role on all aspects of audit engagements, from planning to completion, to include supervision/mentoring of staff and building/maintaining relationships with clients.

How You'll Spend Your Time

• Leading the engagement team staff on the planning and execution of an audit, review or compilation engagement to effectively and efficiently provide world-class client service
• Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the audit engagement from staffing, planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, financial reporting and the conclusion
• Providing supervision and support to the engagement staff and promote open communication to the engagement manager and partner
• Collaborating with managers and partners on client issue resolution and make recommendations for any legal, regulatory and accounting issues that arise during an audit engagement
• Reviewing all schedule and non-scheduled general ledger accounts for accurate entries
• Managing multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to efficiently meet client deadlines
• Creating and track engagement budgets to review for inefficiencies that may arise during the audit
• Conducting constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and providing counsel accordingly
• Serving in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader

• Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance
• CPA or CPA eligible
• At least 2 years of public accounting experience, with experience leading multiple engagements and supervising staff
• Excellent analytical, technical, and auditing skills including familiarity with US GAAP due to the complexity of the engagements in this sector
• Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing projects in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment
• Strong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client's management
• Excellent analytical, organizational, project management skills, strong attention to detail, and proven innovative problem-solving skill

The compensation in New Jersey for this position ranges from $80,000-$105,000. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual's skills, experience and qualifications.
