Job summary

Metro YMCAs is seeking an energetic Indoor Cycling Instructor to lead engaging, safe, and inclusive group classes at our Livingston, NJ location. You will guide participants of all fitness levels, ensuring proper bike setup, technique, and motivating coaching throughout structured rides.

Responsibilities include class preparation, equipment checks, attendance tracking, and maintaining a welcoming environment that supports member retention and a positive YMCA experience.

Qualifications

• National Group Exercise Certification is required.
• Indoor cycling certification (Schwinn®, Spinning®, Stages®, MOSSA RIDE®, Keiser®, YMCA Cycling or equivalent) required.
• CPR/AED certification required.
• First Aid certification required.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe, engaging group cycling classes per YMCA standards.
• Prepare classes for varied ages and fitness levels with modifications.
• Provide clear instruction and demonstrate proper technique.
• Set up bikes, music, and equipment; start/end on time.
• Foster welcoming, inclusive YMCA community for all participants.
• Build relationships with members and deliver exceptional service.
• Record attendance and required reports in YMCA systems.
• Inspect bikes/equipment for safety and cleanliness.
• Communicate schedule conflicts to supervisor.
