Job summary

CB Partners, LLC is partnering with a nationally recognized industry leader to recruit a Tax Analyst. The role supports sales and use tax compliance, tax research, audit activities, transaction analysis, and process improvement in a collaborative, growth‑oriented environment.

You will prepare returns, analyze transactions, assist with audits, monitor tax changes, and partner with Accounting, Finance, Procurement and Operations to ensure accurate reporting and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in sales and use tax, indirect tax, or transactional tax compliance.
• Working knowledge of multi-state sales and use tax regulations.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with Vertex, SAP, or similar tax ERP systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit sales and use tax returns for multiple state and local jurisdictions in a timely and accurate manner.
• Analyze purchases, invoices, and other transactions to determine proper tax treatment and identify use tax liabilities.
• Support monthly and quarterly tax compliance processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and reporting activities.
• Maintain tax records, schedules, and supporting documentation for internal controls and audits.
• Assist with sales and use tax audits, including gathering information and responding to auditor inquiries.
• Research indirect tax laws and regulations to support tax positions and resolve compliance questions.
• Review notices from taxing authorities and respond as needed.
• Monitor changes in tax regulations and communicate impacts to stakeholders.
• Partner with Accounting, Finance, Procurement, and Operations teams to ensure accurate tax reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve tax processes and support automation initiatives.
• Utilize tax compliance software and ERP systems to support reporting and data analysis.
