MOHR Talent is seeking an Indirect Procurement Manager for a biotech/pharma manufacturing setting in California. This onsite, hands-on player/coach role leads sourcing, supplier negotiations, RFQs/RFPs, contracts, and day‑to‑day procurement across direct and indirect spend.

You’ll partner with operations, quality, and finance to drive cost reduction and process improvements. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in sourcing/procurement, experience with GMP‑regulated environments, and ERP expertise.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or vendor management experience.
• Experience with both direct and indirect procurement is highly preferred.
• Background in biotech, biopharma, pharmaceutical, diagnostics, life sciences, or GMP‑regulated manufacturing.
• Experience managing suppliers, contracts, RFQs/RFPs, purchase orders, and negotiations.
• ERP experience is required.
• Strong communication, problem solving and cross‑functional leadership skills.

Responsabilités

• Manage sourcing and procurement activity across direct and indirect spend categories.
• Lead and develop a small team, including one direct Buyer-level report.
• Handle RFQs, RFPs, supplier selection, negotiations, contracts, and purchase commitments.
• Support direct procurement for materials, chemicals, packaging, and production goods.

• Oversee purchase requests, orders, supplier onboarding, quotes, contracts, and performance.
• Partner with operations, quality, finance and other internal teams.
• Drive cost reduction, process improvement, supplier performance, and budget discipline.
• Support inventory needs and maintain supply levels with VMI contacts.
• Help write or improve procurement SOPs, policies, and guidelines.

We’re partnering with a growing biotech/pharmaceutical manufacturing organization that is hiring a hands-on Procurement Manager to lead sourcing, vendor management, purchasing activity, and procurement operations.

This is a true player/coach role. The team is small, so this person needs to lead while also actively managing sourcing, supplier negotiations, RFQs/RFPs, contracts, purchase orders, and day‑to‐day procurement needs.

The right candidate must have experience with both direct procurement and indirect procurement in a regulated manufacturing environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Manage sourcing and procurement activity across direct and indirect spend categories
• Lead and develop a small team, including one direct Buyer-level report
• Handle RFQs, RFPs, supplier selection, negotiations, contracts, and purchase commitments
• Support direct procurement for categories such as raw materials, chemicals, packaging, manufacturing supplies, components, and production‑related goods
• Manage indirect procurement for categories such as security, waste management, software platforms, diagnostics, professional services, facilities, and operational services
• Oversee purchase requests, purchase orders, supplier onboarding, quotes, contracts, and supplier performance
• Partner with operations, manufacturing, quality, finance, and other internal teams
• Drive cost reduction, process improvement, supplier performance, and budget discipline
• Support inventory needs and work with VMI contacts to maintain adequate supply levels
• Help write or improve procurement SOPs, policies, guidelines, and procedures
• Ensure ethical, compliant, and effective procurement practices
• Support GMP‑regulated purchasing requirements and supplier expectations

What They’re Looking For

• 5+ years of progressive sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or vendor management experience
• Experience with both direct and indirect procurement is highly preferred
• Background in biotech, biopharma, pharmaceutical, diagnostics, life sciences, medical device, medical equipment manufacturing, or other GMP‑regulated manufacturing
• Experience managing suppliers, contracts, RFQs/RFPs, purchase orders, and negotiations
• Strong indirect procurement experience across operational spend categories
• Direct procurement experience with raw materials, chemicals, packaging, manufacturing supplies, or production‑related materials
• ERP experience required
• GMP knowledge strongly preferred
• Experience writing or improving SOPs, policies, or procurement guidelines preferred
• Prior supervisory, lead, or manager‑level experience preferred
• Strong communication, problem‑solving, negotiation, and cross‑functional leadership skills
• Comfortable being hands‑on in a small‑team environment
