Job summary

Eaton's IS AER FED division is seeking an Indirect Buyer for our Glenolden, PA facility. The Buyer will coordinate with the Master Scheduler to release POs timely, negotiate contracts for production materials, and manage indirect material flow across the site.

This role collaborates across departments to ensure timely deliveries and optimize inventory levels. The position requires a Bachelor's degree, 1+ year in supply chain or purchasing, and US work authorization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• APICS certification is a plus.
• 1+ year of supply chain or purchasing experience, including internships/co-ops.

Responsibilities

• Analyze current orders, historical data, and records to determine best sources.
• Maintain adequate supply of assigned commodities.
• Reduce excess inventory by reviewing reports and optimize value per requirements.
• Resolve issues related to source selection, price, deliveries, specs, quality, and terms with suppliers and internal teams.
• Assist in resolving payment issues and rescheduling as needed.
• Maintain part parameters with MRP and adjust inventory for scrap or loss.
• Support Lean initiatives, including kitting and value stream mapping.
• Manage the Ariba purchasing system and develop supplier schedules.
• Develop and maintain purchase part strategy (PFEP).

Job description

Eaton's IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Indirect Buyer. This position will be located at our Glenolden, PA facility.

The Buyer will work directly with the Master Scheduler to initiate timely release of purchase orders and negotiate contracts for production materials. In addition, this Buyer role will manage the indirect material flow for the site.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $71000 - $105000 a year.

What you'll do:

• Analyze current orders, historical data, and other records to determine the best source.
• Maintain an adequate supply of assigned commodities.
• Reduce excess incoming inventory by continually reviewing action message reports. Maximize the value of each purchase consistent with the Company's requirements and policies.
• Resolve problems related to selection of source, price, deliveries, specifications, quality and other terms with suppliers and various internal departments.
• Assist in resolving payment issues when they arise.
• Advise supervisor when rescheduling is necessary.
• Maintain part parameters with MRP.
• Determine adjustments to inventory as a result of scrap, damage or loss of parts.
• Support Value Stream Manager to improve deliveries and provide accurate shortage information when necessary.
• Create and maintain supplier schedules on a weekly basis to ensure accurate and on-time information flow to suppliers.
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives through kitting and value stream mapping activities as required.
• Manage Ariba system for purchasing.
• Develop and maintain purchase part strategy (PFEP).

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in supply chain, inclusive of internships and/or co-ops.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future.
• This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158.
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Glenolden, PA will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Supply Chain Management from an accredited institution.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience within Excel using V Lookups and Pivot Tables.
• Experience with ERP System i.e. MFGPro, SAP, AS400, Oracle.
• APICS certification.

Position Success Criteria:

• Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to work with company personnel and outside supplies.
