Job summary

Valto, Inc. in Joliet, IL, is seeking an Indirect Buyer to lead all indirect sourcing for the Goshen production site, driving cost efficiency and managing vendor relationships.

The role requires a college degree in supply chain or related field and 2–5 years in procurement or sourcing, with strong cost analysis, negotiation, and communication skills; you will back up other sites as needed. You will issue and track purchase orders, ensure contract compliance, monitor budgets, and report savings

• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or other operations or supply chain role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Identify and source suppliers for indirect goods and services for the Joliet site.
• Facilitate negotiation of contracts and agreements with favorable terms and total cost of ownership.

• Coordinate with site internal teams to ensure cost-effective and timely fulfillment.
• Partner with other Valto production sites to aggregate products for lower total cost of ownership.
• Ensure compliance with budgets and forecast future site purchasing needs.
• Measure and communicate opportunities and savings with KPI metrics.
• Measure supplier performance and internal participation in initiatives.
• Resolve issues related to indirect product and service quality, delivery, or payment.
• Communicate project updates to all stakeholders.

Valto is currently seeking an Indirect Buyer – Joliet, IL. This role is responsible for leading all indirect sourcing activities for goods and services at the Goshen production site. The Buyer will drive cost efficiency and productivity by identifying low-cost sourcing opportunities, ensuring contract compliance, managing vendor relationships, and maintaining appropriate inventory levels for non-production materials.

Additionally, this position will provide cross-site support by serving as a backup to Indirect Buyers at other locations as needed.

How you’ll make an impact:

• Identify and source suppliers for indirect goods and services for the Joliet production site. Facilitate negotiation of contracts and agreements, ensuring favorable terms and total cost of ownership for the company.
• Issue and track purchase orders for indirect materials and services. Coordinate with various site internal teams to ensure accurate, cost-effective, and timely fulfillment.
• Partner with other Valto production sites to aggregate products to drive lower cost of ownership through leveraged buying arrangements.
• Ensure compliance with budgets and forecast future site purchasing needs.
• Measure and communicate opportunities and savings both internally and externally.
• Measure supplier performance and internal participation in all initiatives.
• Track site spend and report cost savings and supplier performance through a standardized set of KPI’s.
• Resolve issues related to site Indirect product and service quality, delivery, or payment.
• Communicate project updates to all stakeholders

What you bring to the table:

• College degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field preferred
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or other operations or supply chain role, preferably in a manufacturing environment

For this role, we anticipate paying an annualized rate up to 70k, plus bonus. Placement within the range considers experience, skills, and internal equity.
