Job summary

Louisiana Association for the Blind seeks the VIPS Education Lead for Indiana to guide a statewide team serving young children with visual impairments and their families. The role requires leadership, compassion, and professional representation across communities.

The position oversees daily educational programming, coordinates referrals, and maintains contract compliance with Indiana First Steps and related grants. Travel within Indiana is required.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Teacher of Blind/Low Vision Students or TI, TI/ TVI credentials required.
• Experience leading educational teams and partnerships with care providers.
• Knowledge of Indiana First Steps and statewide educational programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Indiana educational programming and supervise VIPS teams across the state.
• Partner with state agencies and school administrations to coordinate services.
• Lead regular VIPS Education Team meetings and ensure compliance with contracts.
• Represent VIPS at community events and build provider relationships.
• Support grant writing and reporting efforts as needed.
• Maintain responsive communication with VIPS administration and stakeholders.
