Job summary

Northern Lights Locating & Inspection, Inc. is seeking an experienced Utility Locator in Rice Lake, WI, to perform underground utility locating in compliance with 811 laws.

You will read maps, GIS data, and as-built drawings, mark utilities with paint and flags, and document work via a mobile app. Candidate should have 2+ years of locating experience, valid license, and willingness to work all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of 811 laws and best locate practices.
• Ability to read utility maps, as-builts and GIS data.
• Willingness to work in all weather conditions and OT.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Locate underground utilities in compliance with 811 laws.
• Read/utilize maps, drawings and GIS data for accurate marks.
• Use electronic locating equipment and multiple methods.
• Mark utilities with paint and flags accurately in the field.
• Document work with photos and reports via a mobile app.
• Participate in on-call rotation and incident investigations.
