Job summary

NYU Grossman School of Medicine invites applications for a per diem Research Associate. The successful candidate will conduct independent basic science experiments under the mentorship of a senior scientist and work toward building a portfolio of research accomplishments for advanced study.

Responsibilities include training graduate students and post-doctoral fellows, designing experiments, recording results, preparing figures for publications, and contributing to grant proposals and manuscripts.

Qualifications

• B.S. or B.A. in Biomedical or Physical Sciences.
• Minimum commitment of two years; placement may not exceed three years.
• Able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Train graduate students and post-doctoral fellows in experimental design and technique.
• Generate hypotheses, design experiments, and perform multiple experiments independently.
• Record findings in a lab notebook, analyze results, and propose protocol modifications.
• Prepare figures for presentations and publications; contribute to grant proposals and manuscripts.
