Job summary

Terrance Private Investigator & Associates is seeking independent contractors to handle process serving nationwide with a focus in Georgia. You will accept assignments, serve court documents, and document each attempt with precise details.

Strong skip tracing, field investigation skills and integrity are essential for success in this role. Applicants must be 18+, hold a valid driver's license with a clean record, pass a background check, and maintain confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Current certification or court authorization to serve process in the state and jurisdiction of assignment.
• Minimum 1 year of documented process serving experience with a successful service record.
• Knowledge of service rules including personal, substituted, and alternative service.
• Ability to prepare accurate returns of service and affidavits of due diligence.
• Skilled in locate and skip tracing of evasive defendants.
• Understanding of boundaries governing service and related conduct.
• Must be 18+, valid license, clean driving record and insured vehicle.
• Pass background check and maintain confidentiality at all times.
• Notary commission and multi-county/state certifications preferred.
• Experience with evasive service and corporate registered agent service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accept assignments and complete service within court deadlines.
• Serve documents per jurisdiction rules and preferred service method.
• Document each attempt with date, time, location and observations.
• Conduct skip tracing to locate evasive defendants.
• Prepare accurate returns of service and affidavits under oath.
• Photograph and document attempts, service, and locations lawfully.
• Maintain custody of all documents and report non-service promptly.
• Work independently, manage route, schedule, and priorities.
