Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMH-NP) to join the Integrated Behavioral Health Program in Primary Care. The PMH-NP provides evaluation, treatment and care for adults and pediatrics with psychiatric illness, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive mental health care.

The role includes psychopharmacologic management, crisis intervention and education for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Must hold current licensure as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse in Rhode Island.
• Graduate education with PMHNP specialization including psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, psychopharmacology and supervised clinical training across lifespan.
• National PMHNP certification and eligibility for RI and MA APRN licensure.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and treat individuals with acute or chronic psychiatric illnesses or emotional/behavior disturbances.
• Provide psychopharmacologic management and crisis intervention.
• Coordinate and integrate multidisciplinary services for psychiatric patients.
• Provide comprehensive psychiatric mental health education to patients and families.
• Advocate for individuals with mental health issues and their families and participate in clinical supervision and consultation.
