Position Introduction:

The Sooner Works Program is a four-year, non-degree Inclusive Postsecondary Education (IPSE) and Comprehensive Transition and Postsecondary (CTP) program at the University of Oklahoma. Designed for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, Sooner Works provides individualized support and opportunities to develop academic, career, independent living, and social skills while engaging in the university community and preparing for meaningful employment and greater independence. The Sooner Works Program is housed within the Zarrow Institute on Transition & Self-Determination.
This Coordinator position serves as the Independent Living/Social Coordinator for the Sooner Works Program and is a key position within Sooner Works. The Sooner Works leadership team consists of four positions: the Program Director, Academic Coordinator, Employment Coordinator, and Independent Living/Social Coordinator. Together, these positions provide comprehensive leadership and support for the program and its students.
The Independent Living/Social Coordinator is responsible for supporting and supervising students in developing independent living and social skills while promoting inclusive, person-centered practices across campus and community settings. The Coordinator will teach inclusive education courses, facilitate independent-living skill development, and support students in navigating residential and campus life. This position also plays a key role in creating inclusive social opportunities, fostering peer connections, and ensuring that students are meaningfully engaged in campus and community experiences.
