Job summary

Crown Bioscience in Kannapolis, NC is seeking an In Vivo Research Associate II/III to independently conduct in vivo studies supporting project goals.

You will work with study directors and cross-functional teams, perform tumor measurements, tissue collection, dosing, and data reporting, ensuring adherence to SOPs and animal welfare. Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree and 2–3 years of vivarium experience; ALAT certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 2–3 years of experience handling animals in a vivarium environment.
• Comfortable working in a laboratory animal research environment.
• Preference for experience with in vivo oncology tumor models in mice (habits: animal handling, tumor implantation, measurement, necropsy, drug administration, survival surgeries).
• AALAS ALAT certification at ALAT level or higher is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with Study Directors and cross-functional teams to ensure studies follow protocols and SOPs.
• Collect body weight data and tumor volume measurements.
• Collect tissue samples and process for shipment to sponsor and internal use.
• Track samples and ship to sponsor companies.
• Prepare animals for procedures (shaving, ear tagging, etc.).
• Perform clinical observations and humane euthanasia in mice.
• Provide feedback on progress of assigned projects based on data collected.
• Perform in-life procedures with minimal supervision; may be trained on more complex procedures.
• Perform subcutaneous inoculations and administer therapeutic agents via IP, PO, SC, IM, ID, IN and IV.
• Support general lab tasks like cleaning, stocking, and sample shipping.
• Track time spent on projects (project logs).
