Job summary

OGD Overhead Garage Door is seeking motivated independent Residential Garage Door Technicians to perform repairs, installations, and maintenance as 1099 contractors. You will be responsible for diagnosing issues, providing solutions, and ensuring top-notch customer service.

No prior garage door experience is required as training is provided. Contractors set their own schedule and can accept or decline available jobs, with initial hardware and tools provided by the company.

Qualifications

• Must be mechanically inclined with comfort using hand/power tools.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Own a pickup truck 20 years old or newer and able to load 50 lbs.
• Willingness to train in Fort Worth, TX to learn OGD standards and systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform residential garage door repairs, installations, and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose customer concerns and provide effective solutions.
• Use OGD's routing platform to accept jobs and update status
• Maintain high level of customer service on every job.
• Follow safety practices and use tools and ladders as required.
• Remove and haul away old doors and equipment; document work orders.

Position Overview

OGD Overhead Garage Door is seeking motivated and dependable independent contractors to join our team as Independent Residential Garage Door Technicians. In this 1099 contractor role, you will provide garage door repair, installation, and maintenance services for residential customers while delivering a high level of customer service and professionalism.

This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are mechanically inclined, customer-focused, and interested in building a flexible, performance-driven career.

No prior garage door experience is required — training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform residential garage door repairs, installations, and preventative maintenance
• Diagnose customer concerns and provide effective solutions in a professional manner
• Use OGD's job-routing platform to accept available jobs and communicate job status
• Maintain a high level of customer service throughout each job
• Perform all work in accordance with industry-standard safety practices
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and ladders up to 8 feet
• Remove and haul away old garage doors and equipment
• Maintain accurate job documentation and work order updates

Requirements

• Must own a pickup truck that is 20 years old or newer
• Mechanically inclined and comfortable working with tools and equipment
• Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and climbing ladders
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability and willingness to service jobs within an agreed-upon service area
• Willingness to attend an initial 10-Day training session in Fort Worth, TX to learn OGD's service standards and systems

Compensation & Contractor Information

• 1099 independent contractor position
• Uncapped commission earning potential
• Weekly payment
• Contractors set their own schedule and may accept or decline available jobs
• Initial hardware, springs, tools, and related equipment are provided by the company
• Paid training provided — no prior garage door experience required

$1,200 - $1,700 a week
