Job summary

Primary Freight is seeking experienced Freight Agents to join our network as independent contractors. This 1099 role offers 100% commission with no base pay, leveraging your existing book of business to drive growth through our back-office support, insurance, and carrier network.

You will prospect, quote, book, and manage shipments from pickup to delivery, negotiate rates with carriers and customers, and keep clients informed as loads move through the supply chain.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of freight brokerage, logistics, or transportation experience.
• Existing or transferable book of business or ability to build one.
• Working knowledge of freight brokerage operations and carrier negotiation.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and problem solving skills.
• Background in customer service and account management.

Responsibilities

• Prospect and contact potential shipping customers to build client relationships.
• Quote, book, and manage shipments from pickup through delivery.
• Negotiate rates with carriers and customers.
• Track loads and communicate proactively with shippers and carriers.
• Complete shipment documentation and resolve transit issues as they arise.
