Job summary

NSF in Fresno, CA is seeking an Independent Contractor Retail Food Safety Auditor to travel regionally, perform 2nd party audits for retail clients, and educate staff on food safety standards.

You will summarize findings and clearly communicate with the Audit Delivery Manager and Account Manager, upholding high standards of quality and integrity. Overnight travel is required with 10-50 audit hours per month.

Qualifications

• Must have a degree.
• At least 2 years of experience in food safety, restaurant or grocery operations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time including overnight as required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Prior food safety experience/knowledge.
• Must live within 30 miles of Fresno to be considered for the position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior food safety audit experience
• ServSafe certification
• Certified CP-FS (Certified Professional Food Safety) or capable to obtain within 3 months (or equivalent certification)
