Job summary

NYU Grossman School of Medicine in New York, NY is seeking a Research Associate to conduct independent basic science experiments under the mentorship of a senior scientist. The role aims to build a portfolio of research achievements in preparation for advanced biomedical training.

Responsibilities include training students, designing experiments, recording data, preparing figures, and contributing to publications.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Biomedical or Physical Sciences required
• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization
• Two-year minimum commitment; position may not exceed three years
• Experience with documenting experiments and data handling is preferred

Responsibilities

• Train graduate students and post-doctoral fellows in experimental design and technique
• Generate hypotheses and perform experiments to test them
• Conduct multiple experiments independently over time
• Record all findings in a lab notebook and interpret results
• Suggest and test protocol modifications based on results
• Prepare figures/diagrams for presentations and publications
• Communicate results and collaborate with lab colleagues
• Present findings and participate in lab meetings to advance science
• Read relevant literature and contribute to manuscript preparation

Education

Bachelor's degree in Biomedical or Physical Sciences
