Job summary

A language services provider is seeking American Sign Language Interpreters in the Memphis, TN area. This role allows for independent contracting, enabling interpreters to negotiate fees based on experience and credentials. Candidates must meet specific qualifications, including fluency in both English and ASL, as well as applicable certifications. Interpreters will have the flexibility to accept assignments per their availability and will be supported through a web-based platform.

Qualifications

• Must have RID certification.
• Require interpreter’s state's QA equivalent level certification.
• Proof of required license or registration is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Accept or decline assignments based on schedule.
• Arrive onsite as requested by the client.
• Provide interpreting services for clients.

Skills

Fluency in English

Fluency in American Sign Language

Knowledge of ethics of interpreting

Overview:

Language Services Associates is looking for American Sign Language interpreters in the Memphis, TN area. As a member of LSA’s network of Independently Contracted Interpreters, you will be responsible for facilitating language communication for the Limited English Proficient (LEP) community in a variety of settings. LSA is continuously accepting qualified interpreters for a wide range of interpreting assignments!

Responsibilities:

·Provide superior customer service

·Adhere to Code of Professional Conduct, including maintaining strict standards of confidentiality

· Adhere to all policies and procedures, including professional interpretation protocols and industry specific best practices

·Adhere to clearance requirements as requested by clients

· Report on site to any accepted assignments in a timely manner

· Access to personal or public transport

Qualifications/Experience:

·Associate or bachelor's degree

·RID certification

·State interpreting licensure (as applicable)

·Fluency in English and American Sign Language
