Qualifications

• Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) knowledge with regulatory understanding.

• Health & Safety skills including hazard recognition, risk assessment, and field practices.
• Inspecting including site assessment, sample collection, documentation, and report writing.
• Training with ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
• Colorado licensing/certifications for asbestos-related work, or eligibility to obtain.
• 3+ years in environmental consulting, industrial hygiene, or related fields is beneficial.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for on-site inspections.

Role Description

The Independent Asbestos Inspector; Environmental Consultant is a part-time (20-40 hours per week), on-site role based in Colorado, United States. This position involves conducting asbestos inspections in residential, commercial, and industrial properties, including site visits, sample collection, and visual assessments. The role includes preparing clear, accurate inspection reports, documenting findings, and communicating results and recommendations to clients. The consultant will support environmental health and safety evaluations, including indoor air quality assessments, mold inspections, smoke & fire assessments, assist with compliance reviews, and participate in client education on asbestos-related risks and best practices. Work hours and assignments are variable, depending on project or workflow needs.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess skills in Environmental Health and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), with an understanding of applicable regulations and standards.
• Candidates will not be actively employed with another industrial hygiene / environmental risk assessment firm in Colorado.
• Candidates should possess skills in Health & Safety, including hazard recognition, risk assessment, and safe work practices in field environments.
• Candidates should possess skills in Inspection, including site assessment, sample collection, documentation, and report writing.
• Candidates should possess skills in Training, with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients and project stakeholders.
• Relevant, active asbestos building inspector, asbestos air monitoring specialist, lead-based paint inspector, lead risk assessor, radon measurement professional, or environmental professional licensing/certifications in Colorado (or eligibility to obtain) is required.
• At least three (3) years' experience in environmental consulting, industrial hygiene, or related fields is beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in the field are important.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for on-site inspections are required.
