Job summary

Benchmark Electronics is seeking an Incoming Inspector in Minnesota. The role involves visual, mechanical, and electrical inspection of parts and assemblies from vendors and Benchmark sites to ensure compliance with drawings and quality standards.

  • Verify packaging documentation against received materials.
  • Provide disposition on inspection results and coordinate with material control.

Summary

Incoming Inspector performs visual, mechanical and electrical inspection on parts, electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies from vendors, customers and other Benchmark sites for compliance with applicable drawing and quality standards and specifications. Fosters divisional teamwork within a continuous improvement environment. Approves incoming materials by confirming specification requirements, conducting visual and measurement tests, accepting acceptable materials/rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.

Responsibilities
  • Works from Receiving packaging documentation and various internal documents to verify that the receipt of incoming material is compliant with specifications
  • Performs various inspection activities on electronic and mechanical parts, electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies for proper markings and other various quality requirements
  • Inputs data into the Data Collection System
  • Checks configuration on all assemblies
  • Participates in providing timely feedback to other operations, management and support engineering, as appropriate
  • Follows and maintains accurate process documentation and recommend improvements based on pertinent data
  • Utilizes optical and measurement equipment to determine the acceptability of components sub-assemblies, etc.
  • Provides inspection disposition and direct appropriate material control (reject/quarantine or stock)
  • Conducts regular inspection tasks on incoming materials by confirming specification requirements and conducting visual and measurement tests. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained. Builds stable working relationships internally.
  • Learns to use professional concepts. Applies company policies and procedures to resolve routine issues.
  • Normally receives detailed instructions on all work

Compensation Range: $17.72 to $22.08 USD. Many factors are considered in compensation decisions, including but not limited to skills, certifications, licensures, experience, training, incumbent data, and other business needs.
