Job summary

Weyerhaeuser in Seattle, WA invites an accounting or finance student to join our Summer 2027 income tax compliance internship. You will support the federal and state income tax compliance for the company and its subsidiaries, preparing state returns, gathering data, and completing filings with our tax software.

This ten-week program offers hybrid work (three days in office, two remote), coaching from professionals, and exposure to SAP, Power BI, OneSource tax, and the Microsoft Office suite.

In our Summer 2027 income tax compliance internship program, you will be a key contributor, completing real work that is important to our success. You will be a member of the team responsible for the federal and state income tax compliance of our company and its subsidiaries. You will have the opportunity to prepare our state income tax returns, where you will gather financial data, perform calculations in our working papers, and ultimately complete the return in our tax software. You will work alongside experienced professionals who will guide you in researching and analyzing tax issues and incorporating law changes into the filings.

• Education: You are pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance, and will have completed your sophomore year by the time of the internship (Summer 2027)
• Systems: Proficiency in Excel, Word, and other Office products is key
• Teamwork: You support others without being asked for help, are a team player, and know how to win together
• Curiosity: You have a track record of proactively identifying potential issues and opportunities through analytical thinking and offering meaningful recommendations that address the root cause rather than symptoms
• Judgement: You use your professional judgement to operate in gray areas and can make and own difficult decisions
• Organization: You prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining critical attention to detail to meet and beat required deadlines
• Communication: You have strong verbal and written skills
• Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis – candidates who require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future will not be considered

Our internship program lasts ten weeks with flexible starting and ending dates. Weyerhaeuser offers a hybrid work structure, where employees work three days in the office (Tuesday through Thursday) and two days remotely. Priority will be given to candidates who, at the time of the internship, are one year away from starting their careers.

Compensation

The pay rate for this position is $26 per hour.
