Job summary
Virginia Beach City Public Schools is seeking an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher for the 2027-2028 school year. Under the supervision of the principal, you will plan and provide specialized instruction for students with disabilities across settings, aligning with IEPs and district initiatives.
The role emphasizes inclusive practice, collaboration with families and multidisciplinary teams, and ongoing professional development to support student growth and success in the general
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an approved program for special education - general curriculum, or have completed 27 semester hours in the education of students with disabilities.
- Eligible or possess a valid Collegiate Professional License from the State of Virginia.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect instructional support in positive environments.
- Employ special educational strategies to develop language, cognition, and memory.
- Instruct students using phonetics, multi-sensory learning, and repetition to meet needs.
- Teach behaviors using an overall positive behavioral support system.
- Modify curriculum for students with disabilities based on instructional techniques.
- Plan activities that balance instruction, demonstration, and work time.
