Job summary

Princeton Independent School District seeks a Classroom Instructional Aide to assist certified teachers and support student learning under the supervision of a principal and teachers. You will help prepare instructional materials, manage activities, and supervise students during the day, including lunch and playground time, contributing to a safe, orderly classroom environment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and either an associate degree or two years of college coursework.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or two years of college coursework.
• Ability to assist in reading, writing, and math instruction.
• Ability to work well with children.
• Ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students under the direction of teacher; work with individual students or small groups.
• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
• Help maintain neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Cover classes for teacher absences when substitutes are not available.
• Help supervise students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom.
• Make teacher aware of special needs or problems of individual students.
• Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
• Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned.
• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
