Zusammenfassung

PUC Schools is seeking an Inclusion Specialist to support students with disabilities under IEPs and to collaborate with families, teachers, and specialists to maximize student success.

The role focuses on instruction, coordinating services with regular programs, daily progress monitoring, and building strong relationships with students, families and the school community in North-East LA. Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Qualifikationen

  • Possession of a valid Preliminary or Clear Education Specialist Instruction Credential OR University Internship Credential eligible (Intern eligibility letter required) OR Qualification for a permit if the applicant does not possess a credential is required.
  • Solid knowledge of the subject matter, including California State Standards and subject-specific frameworks and assessments.
  • Experience with State and Federal guidelines for Special Education.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Aufgaben

  • Instruct and serve students whose needs have been identified in an Individualized Education Program (IEP) developed by the IEP team.
  • Inform and assist students with disabilities and their parents.
  • Coordinate special education services with the regular school programs for each student with disabilities enrolled in the resource program.
  • Monitor student progress on a daily basis.
  • Co-Plan/ Co-Teach/Direct Service Model.
  • Provide behavior support, basic academic skills, organization and study skills, social skills, and use of cognitive strategies.
  • Organize classroom systems/procedures and manage student behavior to ensure all students are fully engaged in learning.
  • Establish an environment where students are excited about learning and preparing for college.
  • Prepare lesson plans for substitutes, if needed.
  • Build strong relationships with students and parents.
  • Communicate with parents/guardians on a weekly basis.
  • Identify each student's areas for improvement and work with the student, family, and internal resources to suggest options for improvement.
  • Provide continual assessment of student progress, maintain student records and portfolios, and complete assigned paperwork in provided timeframes.
  • Collaborate with the teachers to meet the needs of all students.
  • Attend and participate in Academic Success Team, Parent/Teacher Advisory Council, and other school-based meetings and activities.
  • Perform disseminated leadership duties.
  • Attend and implement professional development training throughout and beyond the school year.
