Job summary

Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, Delaware seeks an experienced physician to serve as the inaugural Program Director for the Hospice and Palliative Care Fellowship. The PD will design, implement and direct the new community-based training program in coordination with the DME, DIO and GMEC.

The role features 20% administrative time and 80% clinical time, with responsibilities spanning accreditation compliance, fellow education, faculty development, and ongoing evaluation of program objectives.

Qualifications

• ABMS or AOA board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
• Minimum of two years in hospice and palliative medicine clinical practice.
• Current medical licensure in Delaware.
• At least two years of educational/administrative experience in an ACGME hospice and palliative program.
• Demonstrated leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct the fellowship in alignment with community needs and Beebe Healthcare mission.
• Maintain an educational environment for fellows across ACGME competencies.
• Provide direct patient care to maintain clinical skills.
• Ensure compliance with ACGME Institutional/Program requirements and Hospice requirements.
• Approve and evaluate fellowship faculty and arrange affiliations/rotations.
• Coordinate program applications, citations responses and annual updates with accrediting bodies.
• Oversee fellow work hours, moonlighting policies, and evaluation processes.
• Lead monthly journal clubs, board reviews, and didactics; support faculty development.
