Job summary

Albertsons Companies Inc. is seeking an In Store Shopper (Drive Up & Go Clerk) in Corvallis, Oregon, to select high-quality groceries for online orders, verify freshness, and ensure substitutions match customer preferences.

You’ll move around the store, check packaging, and maintain accuracy under time pressure. You’ll bag items, organize orders for pickup or delivery, coordinate handoffs with teammates, and use handheld devices to track progress.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Prior retail, customer service, or fulfillment experience preferred.
• Ability to use handheld devices and follow digital order systems.
• Strong attention to detail required for product quality and order accuracy.
• Availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Compliance with company policies including safety, sanitation, and dress standards.

Job description

A Day in the Life:

As an In Store Shopper (Drive Up & Go Clerk as we call it), your day is focused on selecting high-quality products for customers who shop online. You move throughout the store picking items, checking quality, and making selections that match what you'd choose yourself. Each order is an opportunity to get it just right, ensuring customers receive accurate and fresh groceries.

Another part of the role is keeping orders organized and ready for pick up. You'll bag items carefully, manage substitutions when needed, and coordinate orders for timely handoff to customers. Between shopping, packing, and preparing orders for delivery or pickup, the work stays steady making it a good fit for someone who enjoys moving throughout the store and working in a fast-paced environment.

• Customer Interaction Skills: Clear and professional communication when assisting with pickup orders
• Product Selection Skills: Choosing high-quality items across perishable and non-perishable departments
• Attention to Detail: Accuracy in order fulfillment, substitutions, and product quality checks
• Organization & Time Management: Managing multiple orders while maintaining speed and accuracy
• Technology Use: Comfortable using handheld devices and systems for order picking and tracking
• Problem Awareness: Identifying out-of-stock items and selecting appropriate substitutions
• Operational Awareness: Following order fulfillment processes and company standards
• Team Awareness: Coordinating order needs with team members and department processes
• Adaptability: Comfort with changing order volume and priorities throughout the shift
• Physical Capability: Comfort with continuous movement, lifting up to 50 lbs., and working in different store areas
