Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is seeking a dynamic, customer service-oriented associate to work in our retail branch. This role involves handling customer inquiries, selling products to walk-in and preferred customers, and occasionally delivering compressed gas cylinders, hard goods, and related products to customer locations (local route). Backup drivers are expected to handle freight during deliveries, prioritize safety, and deliver excellent customer service.

What you will be doing:

• Providing customer support via phone orders, inquiries, tracking shipments, and resolving issues
• Assessing and recommending products, promoting additional sales to meet margin targets
• Conducting product demonstrations and using customer insights for development
• Supporting the Outside Sales team
• Maintaining customer records and files, including account setup and pricing
• Performing warehouse duties, including moving cylinders
• Delivering products, making 10-12 stops daily, touching freight, completing paperwork, and providing customer service
• Accurately recording delivery and pickup quantities and styles
• Completing hazardous material shipping paperwork per DOT regulations
• Conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Identifying vehicle maintenance needs
• Building relationships with customers to meet business and customer needs
• Continuously learning about Linde's operations to support organizational growth
• Performing other duties as assigned

Skills / Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Customer Service or Counter Sales experience; industrial setting preferred
• Knowledge of welding equipment and supplies preferred
• No recent DUI/DWI or alcohol-related driving convictions
• At least 2 years of driving experience or recent certification from an accredited Truck Driving School
• Valid Class A or B CDL required
• Hazmat Endorsement preferred or ability to obtain within 60 days
• No preventable accidents or violations in the past 2 years
• Ability to pass DOT physical and obtain medical certificate
• Ability to lift/move 75 pounds
• English reading and writing proficiency
• Minimum age 21
• Effective communication and active listening skills
• High standards of honesty and integrity
• Commitment to safety and a positive work environment
• Teamwork and accountability skills
