Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Central Florida is seeking a Store Associate to greet customers and donors, process donations, and issue receipts. You will assist with lifting items and maintain the stockroom, ensuring a clean and organized donation area.

The role requires basic computer skills, ability to lift up to 100 pounds with help, and a courteous, professional attitude. Regular duties include sorting donations, pricing wares, and following safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Previous retail and/or stock handling experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of retail and/or stock handling.
• Familiarity with barcode scanning is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and donors with a courteous, friendly and professional attitude; provide prompt, efficient, and accurate customer service at all times.
• Receive donations from donors and issue donation receipts; assist customers with lifting items.
• Sort donations as they arrive into proper carts or bins and assess the quality of donations.
• Sort and price hard goods (wares).
• Maintain clean and safe production and store areas.
• Follow safety procedures and dress code including name badge and vest.
• Provide general information to customers/donors.
• Assist processors when needed.
• Refer complaints to management in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.

Job description

Under the direction of the General Manager, greet customer/donor and process donation. Major duties include receiving donations, giving receipts, assisting co-workers or donors with lifting items, maintaining stockroom, greet and assist donors/customers.Essential Functions/Duties1. Greet each customer with a courteous, friendly and professional attitude; provide prompt, efficient, and accurate customer service at all times.2. Politely and professionally receive donations from donors and issue donation receipts for articles donated; assist customers with lifting items in and out of their vehicles.3. Sort donations as they arrive into proper carts or bins and make proper determination as to the quality of donations.4. Sort and price hard goods (wares)5. Keep production area clean and safe and other store areas as directed.6. Maintain well groomed appearance and appropriate dress code including name badge and vest.Additional Functions/Duties1. Provide general information to customers/donors.2. Assist processors when needed.3. Follow Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) procedures and other Public Protection Guidelines.4. React calmly and respond to emergency situations.5. Refer all customer/donor complaints to management in a timely manner.6. Ability to stoop, bend, kneel, push and pull.5. Sufficient mobility to turn from side to side and the ability to lean and remove items from containers.6.
