Responsibilities

• Monitors student behavior and helps maintain discipline in the in-school suspension room.
• Monitors safety and well-being of students; encourages self-esteem.
• Contacts parent of absent student.
• Assists teachers with instruction and evaluating its effectiveness.
• Assists students with learning; reinforces and clarifies instructions; conducts short sessions on improving study skills; provides one-on-one assistance as needed.
• Maintains standardized records and documentation concerning student progress.
• Performs general housekeeping duties and clerical tasks; maintains class files and instructional materials.
• Works closely with administrators to maintain accurate records of referrals and academic progress.
• Participates in staff development workshops.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
