Job summary

Horry County Schools in United States invites applications for an In School Suspension (ISS) Aide to support the In-School Suspension Program, designed as an alternative to out-of-school suspension, helping students stay in school and separated from disruptions.

Responsibilities include maintaining records, communicating with teachers, creating assignments for students who finish early, and tutoring as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 60 college credit hours or an Associate's degree or Paraprofessional certificate.
• Demonstrated competence for assigned responsibility.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records and files on each student's assignments and assume responsibility to acquiring this information.
• Provide a short written and/or oral communication to teachers about the students' activities while in ISS.
• Develop several work assignments for students who complete their regular assignments before time completion.
• Tutor students when needed and check quality of their completed assignments.
