Job summary

The Boston School of Music Arts is seeking a qualified Guitar instructor for a part-time, in-school role at our two Boston-area locations. While a college degree in music is not required, a strong background in guitar performance and teaching is essential, with experience with children and adults.

We handle administration, payments, and marketing, offering top pay. Ideal candidates enjoy teaching, are personable, reliable, and capable of performing across genres in private and small group

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Music Education or related field.
• Solid Guitar performance experience and teaching ability across genres.
• Reliable and organized with strong communication skills.
• Experience teaching ages 5 to Adult; ability to work both 1-on-1 and in groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide a fun and engaging experience for students.
• Become trained and certified in delivering our lessons program.
• Keep internal lessons progress notes.
• Prepare students for community performances and school performances.
• May prepare students for competitions as BSMA rep, or for special auditions.
• Will teach small groups and bands weekly; group class pay rate is higher than range.
