Job summary

Clean Harbors is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Project Management Intern to join our safety-focused team in Norwell, MA for Summer 2027. This in-person internship provides hands-on experience supporting real projects across environmental, energy and industrial services.

Start dates are May 17 or May 24, 2027, with programs running through August. You will work with engineers and operations, learn CAD updates, project scoping, and how safety culture drives our work.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Interest in environmental services industry.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a professional team.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office or relevant technical tools.
• Proficiency in CAD, 2D modeling or similar software.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health and safety is the top priority by following safe work practices.
• Assist in the implementation and evaluation of ongoing projects.
• Assist investigations in support of company reporting protocols.
• Support engineering and operations.
• Use CAD to revise and update drawings.
• Assist site engineers with project scoping and design.
• Take initiative and proactively learn and solve problems.
