Job summary

HeyTutor partners with a Bangor, ME school district to recruit Paraeducators and Tutors for in-person support. The role blends 1:1 tutoring with K–5 special education classroom assistance, following HeyTutor's curriculum and school calendar.

Expect to work Monday through Friday, about 6 hours per day during school hours, with duties including behavior support, data collection, and collaboration with teachers to implement individualized plans. A background check is required.

Qualifications

• Experience working with students in educational settings.
• Comfortable working in a classroom with students who have special needs.
• Excellent communication with teachers and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 tutoring using HeyTutor curriculum.
• Support a K–5 special education classroom with instructional activities and routines.
• Assist in collecting behavior data and documenting observations.
• Collaborate with teachers to implement accommodations and modifications.
• Maintain high expectations and promote student independence.
