Job summary

Indiana University South Bend invites applications for a Lecturer in Psychology in the IU South Bend Psychology Department. The successful candidate will teach Introductory Psychology and undergraduate courses in methodology, including research methods, statistics, non-experimental design, and APA style writing.

The area of specialization is open; a 12-credit-hour per semester teaching load is expected, with summer teaching voluntary and paid separately.

Qualifications

• MA degree in Psychology by the time of appointment is required; specialization area open.
• Willingness and availability to teach in-person format.
• Experience with a variety of teaching methods and curricular perspectives.
• Demonstrated effective teaching and communication skills.
• Familiarity with commonly used analytical tools (e.g., SPSS, Excel, R, Qualtrics, NVivo, and/or similar platforms).
• Ability to teach courses such as developmental, industrial/organizational, introductory, data science, ABA, community psychology, or emerging areas.
• Ph.D. in Psychology (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Teach Introductory Psychology and undergraduate courses related to methodology (e.g., research methods, statistics, non-experimental design, APA style writing).
• Teaching load is 12 credit hours of undergraduate coursework each semester (fall and spring).
• Summer teaching is voluntary and compensated separately.
• Participate in service activities to the department, school, campus, or community (e.g., faculty meetings, committees).
• This position does not carry expectations for a research program or publications.
