Job summary

L’ Alliance New York is seeking a passionate French as a Foreign Language instructor for private, one-on-one lessons onsite in Manhattan. The role focuses on adults and youths (ages 7–17) with curriculums tailored to each learner’s goals and progress.

In-person weekdays, evenings and weekends, with flexible scheduling, are expected. Ideal candidates have 6+ months of teaching experience, a Master FLE/DAEFLE or equivalent degree, native French fluency, and English at least at B1.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of teaching experience with children, teens, and/or adults.
• Degree in Teaching French as a Foreign Language (FLE) — Master FLE, DAEFLE, or equivalent; or a degree in Elementary Education.
• Native-level fluency in French and English at least B1; ability to teach one-on-one.
• Experience delivering private or small-group lessons; familiarity with technology-enhanced learning.
• U.S. work authorization; visa sponsorship is not provided.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, student-centered French lessons for individuals.
• Create a supportive environment fostering trust, communication, and confidence.
• Integrate technology and authentic materials to promote immersive learning.
• Coordinate with families about scheduling and curriculum changes.
• Maintain records with Language Center administrative team.
