Actalent is hiring a Lab Assistant Certified Phlebotomy Technician for an in-patient hospital setting in West Covina, CA. You will perform venipunctures on adults and children, handle specimen processing, and support data entry with laboratory systems.

The role requires CPT certification, California CPT, and BLS, with a focus on accuracy, safety and customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proficient in phlebotomy techniques including venipuncture, blood cultures, finger and heel sticks.
• 12 years of CPT experience in hospital or reference lab settings.
• California CPT certificate and BLS certification required.
• Strong medical terminology and data entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures on adult and pediatric patients in an in-patient hospital environment.
• Perform micro-collections on infants following protocols.
• Process specimens including labeling, handling and preparation for analysis.
• Enter data accurately using lab information systems and computers.
• Communicate professionally with patients and clinical staff to resolve specimen issues.
