Job summary

Buffalo Sabres is seeking a full-time security professional to patrol facilities, enforce company policy, and communicate with guests in a positive, professional manner to ensure safety and compliance. The role involves monitoring various systems and maintaining accurate records in a fast-paced arena environment.

The candidate should have a high school diploma, be able to obtain NYS security guard certification, and ideally 3–5 years of security or law enforcement experience.

Qualifications

• Must obtain NYS security guard certification.
• 3–5 years security or law enforcement experience preferred.
• Ability to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned areas to ensure guest safety and policy compliance.
• Greet, monitor, and control movements of patrons, visitors, employees, and contractors.
• Conduct varying levels of screening as directed.
• Monitor fire panels, alarms, cameras, and access systems.
• Create documentation for events and maintain daily logs.
• Remain calm and professional; report information to supervisor.

Summary

To ensure the safety and enjoyment of our guests, contractors and employees while enforcing company policy in a positive and professional manner, through patrolling assigned areas and through interpersonal communications. Monitoring and controlling the movements of patrons, visitors and contractors through various methods is also a main component of the job.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned areas within the assigned properties to ensure guest safety and compliance with building policy;
• Greet, monitor, and control the movements of patrons, visitors, employees, and contractors;
• Conduct varying levels of screening of guests, employees and visitors as directed;
• Monitor all electronic systems (fire board, alarm panel, cameras, access system);
• Create documentation for all pertinent events and maintain daily log sheets;
• Remain calm and professional in all situations;
• Report pertinent information to supervisor;
• Conduct routine surveillance rounds in and around the assigned properties including the outside perimeter.

Minimum Qualifications for this Position

• High School Diploma or Equivalent;
• Must be able to obtain New York State security guard certification and be of good character;
• Three to five years previous law enforcement or security experience is preferred;
• Must be able to work effectively with limited supervision at times;
• Must be able to work irregular hours that include varying shifts (days, evening, overnights), weekends, holidays, and mandatory overtime when needed.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to stand, sit, walk for extended and varying periods of time;
• Must be able to walk stairs;
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.;
• Must be willing and able to respond to emergent situations.

Shift Availability

Compensation

• This is a full-time role and pays $19.70 per hour.
